3.15.08 Strawberry pirate
Today was my daughter's "official" birthday party since it was the first day we could get everyone together. I made a cake for her that was supposed to look like Strawberry Shortcake wearing a big, pink puffy dress. But then we stuck in this pirate candle, and well, it gave the cake a whole new look.

Ha, I like the pirate flag... We have a long tradition - origin long forgotten - of sneaking a Sesame Street Grover finger puppet on all of our birthday cakes, regardless of the theme.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Strawberry pirates! :D
ReplyDeleteHeehee, nice cake! Strawberry Shortcake is adorable. Whose idea was it to put the pirate flag on there? :oP

ReplyDeleteHee hee. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh! It was a collaborative idea, Nim. We had those candles left over from my son's birthday party in December, and when asked if she wanted one, she said, "Sure!"
